Last checked 28 September 2026

Answer

The user opens any journal, list or worksheet and chooses Open in Excel, which downloads that page including the columns in the current view. That requires the permission set D365 Excel Export Action or system permission 6110 Allow Action Export To Excel. Microsoft names the pages to take when leaving the service, including Chart of Accounts, Customers, Vendors, Banks, Items and General Ledger Entries, notes the General Ledger Entries export often takes more than a few minutes, and says data must be exported per company when a tenant holds several.

What it holds

General ledger entries, customers, vendors, items, banks, ledger entries, budgets, sales and purchase documents.

Find the size

The admin reads the Capacity page in the Business Central administration center, which shows total database storage usage and Storage usage by environment, and links each environment to its Table Information page for size by table. The default allowance is 80 GB plus an allowance per licensed Essentials or Premium user.

What to enter on the form

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in GB, and the year your company started using it. Seller form
