BambooHR's saved reports come out through its own API, on the company domain, authenticated with an API key used as the username and any string as the password, or with OAuth. Call List Reports to get the id of every saved custom report in the account, then Get Report by ID to run one and return its rows. For an ad hoc pull, use the Datasets endpoints: List Datasets (v1.2) returns the datasets the account can query, Get Fields from Dataset (v1.2) returns the field names for one, and Get Data from Dataset (v2) returns the rows, paged, with page, pageSize, totalPages and totalItems in the response. The older Request Custom Report endpoint returns JSON, XML, CSV, XLS or PDF, takes up to 400 fields per request and includes both active and inactive employees, and BambooHR marks it deprecated in favour of the dataset route. Dataset access needs elevated permissions, and a caller without them gets 403 whatever fields are asked for.
What it holds
Employee records with job history, compensation, benefits enrolment, dependents, custom tables and uploaded documents.
Find the size
No endpoint reports a storage figure. Get Data from Dataset (v2) returns totalItems in its meta block, which is the employee row count for that dataset. Quote that, plus the row count of each report.
